Martin Kallinger is an experienced digital journalist and editor with a strong background in newsroom leadership, breaking news, multimedia journalism and digital content strategy. He currently serves as Head of Editorial at krone.at, Austria’s largest digital news platform, where he leads the editorial team and oversees editorial strategy, daily news operations and multimedia content coordination.
In his role, he is responsible for shaping the editorial direction of a fast-moving digital newsroom, managing breaking news coverage and coordinating content across departments. His work combines editorial decision-making, team leadership, digital publishing and the ability to respond quickly to current affairs in a highly competitive media environment.
Before taking on his current position, Martin served as News Editor-in-Chief on Duty and Deputy Editor-in-Chief at Krone Multimedia, where he oversaw newsroom production, editorial quality and daily publishing workflows, while also contributing to the strategic development of Kronen Zeitung’s online presence.
He began his career as a sports and news reporter at Steirerkrone, first working in sports journalism before expanding into general news, crime, local reporting and current affairs. Over the years, he has built extensive experience in both regional and national journalism.
His expertise includes editorial leadership, digital news journalism, breaking news and live coverage, multimedia content strategy, politics, current affairs, sports reporting and newsroom operations.
