Cédric Baecher

Partner, Wavestone and Co-founder, Nomadeis

A graduate of the ESSEC business school (2000) in Paris, France, Cédric is the co-founder (2002) and Managing Director of Nomadéis, an independent consulting agency focusing on sustainability and international cooperation issues.
Over the past 12 years, he has acquired an extensive experience of sustainable development challenges, working on 400+ assignments in 50+ countries with multinational corporations, national and local governments, foundations and NGOs. He specializes in environmental performance, green growth, social responsibility, innovative partnerships and sustainable urbanization.
In 2001, before creating Nomadéis, he accomplished a one-year, round-the-world research travel on water and poverty issues, supported by UNESCO and Veolia (the world leader in environment services).
In 2011, he co-founded ScenaRio 2012, the first global research on youth and sustainable development (30,000 young people and 100 thought leaders involved in 30 countries), supported by the United Nations for the Rio+20 Conference and placed under the patronage of H.S.H. the Prince Albert II of Monaco and his Foundation.
In 2012, he was invited by French author Jacques Attali (one of the top 100 public intellectuals in the world, according to the Foreign Policy Magazine 2008) to join an international expert group mandated by French President François Hollande to brainstorm on a new growth paradigm called “The Positive Economy”.
A Fellow of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (2012), the American Swiss Foundation (2013) and the Council for the US and Italy (2013), Cédric is involved with various non-profit institutions advocating for intercultural dialogue and fight against poverty. He is a member of the Board of the Solucom corporate Foundation, providing support to underprivileged children in France and internationally.
Fluent in French, English and Spanish, he is regularly invited by academic institutions to share his experience through talks or articles.
