Alessandra Priante
President, ENIT SpA – Italian Tourism Board
Alessandra is the President of ENIT SpA, the Italian Tourism Board, where she leads the Board of Directors, designs the strategy and represents Italy’s tourism interests on the global stage.
With a background as an Economist and extensive international experience, she was the first woman and Italian to serve as Director for Europe at the United Nations Agency for Tourism, overseeing 43 Member States and significantly enhancing member engagement and satisfaction.
During her tenure, Alessandra successfully managed the tourism sector’s response to the pandemic, leading initiatives like the Global Tourism Crisis Committee and positioning UN Tourism at the forefront of global recovery efforts. She also played a key role in promoting Italy through initiatives like the #RestartTourism campaign and the World Summit of Youth on Sustainable Tourism.
A graduate of Bocconi University with two Master’s degrees, including an executive MBA, Alessandra is fluent in six languages. She returned to Italian tourism policy leadership in 2015 after a successful diplomatic mission in the Persian Gulf, where she promoted Italy’s cultural and educational heritage. Her efforts helped restore Italy’s prominence in international tourism platforms and contributed to the development of the national strategic plan for 2017-2020.
In addition to her government work, Alessandra is an accomplished author and educator, serving as an associate professor at Luiss Business School and a Research Fellow at Luiss Guido Carli University. She is passionate about music, cinema (as a member of the European Film Academy), art, and cuisine, and enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her family, friends, and AS Roma.
