Mislav Matišić,
Director, Osijek-Baranja County Tourist Board

Mislav Matišić is the Director of the Osijek-Baranja County Tourist Board, where he is actively involved in the development and promotion of tourism in Slavonia and Baranja. His professional work focuses on regional development, culture, tourism and the creation of destination experiences that connect local identity, heritage and community.

For the past twenty years, Mislav has been active in civil society organisations, promoting culture, tourism and recreation. He is the initiator and organiser of numerous events and activities in Slavonia and Baranja, including HeadOnEast, one of Osijek’s most recognisable events.

He graduated in Geography and History from the Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb, and in Modern and Contemporary History from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb.

In 2015, he returned to Slavonia to contribute to regional development through the preparation and implementation of EU projects in the fields of culture and tourism. Before taking on his current role, he gained several years of experience working in a development agency.
