Tonči Peović, Director of Brač Airport
He gained vocation of a professional pilot with IFR licensing and engineer of aviation at the University of Zagreb. He postgraduates MBA Aviation at the Donau University Krems-Austria and earned the Master of Science in Aeronautics.
He is Croatian War for Independence volunteer since July 1991 and bearer of the Monument of the Homeland War and Medal of the “Hrvatski Trolist”.
He worked as Director of the Dubrovnik Airport and during his 17 years leadership he made significant progress in repositioning Dubrovnik in the tourist market and reconstruction of the airport, financed from its business and EU funds.
As a member of the UN inspector team, he was involved in air traffic control over the following ICAO member states; Austria, China, Bahrain, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Syria. He was elected as a member of the Board of the World Aerodrome Council (ACI WGB), then the Board of the European Aerodrome Council (ACI EU), and the President of the Association of Regional Airports of Europe (RAF). During his five-year mandate as Director of the Zagreb Airport, he successfully developed and managed the process of privatization of the PPP Concession Model Management with the commitment of investing EUR 240M in the construction of the Zagreb Airport Terminal.
He overtook control of the Brač Airport at a time of crisis and introduced changes in infrastructure and marketing, which resulted in a repeated increase in traffic and the planning of further positive scenarios for tourism development of the island of Brač by using aerodrome infrastructure. He is active lecturer on aeronautical management training program on all continents – program (AMPAP) of the World Aviation Organization ICAO. Hi is Consul of the Kingdom of Norway for Dalmatia region and the Kingdom of Sweden for the Dubrovnik County.
