Marcel Medak

President, Health Tourism Association at Croatian Chamber of Economy

Marcel is health tourism specialist by profession and he graduated from Interdisciplinary specialist study at the University of Rijeka.

His narrow specialty in the field of tourism is health tourism and, in his career, he had the opportunity to significantly influence the development of health tourism in Croatia. From 2009 to 2017 he was the general director at Daruvarske Toplice Spa, for 3 years he was CEO at Sunčane toplice d.o.o. owned by Mr. Jako Andabak and after that he was director for the development of health tourism at Gitone Kvarner d.o.o. company, which operationally manages Liburnia Riviera hotels in Opatija. Currently, he is director at the Bjelovarsko-Bilogorska County Tourist Board.

He participates in the work of significant economy and tourism associations and boards. Since 2011 he is the president of the Health Tourism Association at the Croatian Chamber of Economy. From 2016 to September 2021, he was a member of the Council of the Croatian Tourist Board. At the international level, he is the representative of the Republic of Croatia in European Spa Association ESPA, and in the period from 2018 to 2020 he was a member of the executive board of EHTTA – European historical thermal town association.
